Vernissage: «This is my letter to the World» (Emily Dickinson): UZH students post digital messages on analog display

MA students draw inspiration from Emily Dickinson’s refusal to have her poems printed to imagine forms of writing that analogously defy global networks of digital communication. Like the handwritten letter-poems that Dickinson circulated among an intimate world of friends and family, the student work on display pursues written connection beyond the confines of the World Wide Web.

This original work will be paired with examples of Dickinson’s own manuscripts and handmade books. The creators (with the exception of Dickinson) will be on hand to discuss their projects and answer questions.

The vernissage with aperitif takes place on Friday, 28.3.2025, at 6:00pm.

The exhibition runs from 28.3.2025 to 25.4.2025 and is accessible for all from Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm. With UZH Card it is accessible daily from 7:00am to 11:00pm.
