Funder requirements and publisher's conditions

This Lunch & Learn series offers members of the UZH insights into various aspects of Open Science. The event begins with an half-hour input presentation and concludes with an open Q&A session.

Allgemeine Informationen

Suzanna Marazza from CCdigitallaw of the Università della Svizzera italiana will give a workshop on funder requirements and publishers' conditions:
  • What is the difference between the role of the right holder and that of the author?
  • What are the different legal implications on these subjects of a publishing contract and of a license to publish?
  • Am I allowed to publish a version of my paper on the institutional repository before the end of the embargo?
  • Which provision of the contract may I negotiate?
  • And how do I negotiate my rights using the Rights Retention Strategy if the SNSF requires me to keep my copyright?

The goal of this workshop is to give a very brief overview of copyright, answer these and other questions related to the interests of the funders, interests of the publishers and possible conflicts between them and the author/researcher and eventually to find possible solutions.
